This one is hands down one of the most critical rules you should follow regarding social media and relationships: If you’re unsure whether you should post something, then don’t. Be sure to avoid this social media relationship pitfall. The internet is forever.

Even deleted posts can be dug up at some point in time, and it’s better to err on the side of caution. Resist the feeling of immediacy that social media often compels us towards. If it’s a good idea to post it today, it’ll still be good to post it tomorrow, as well.

So, it’s OK to take some time to think about it and check in with your spouse about their feelings before sharing it. It won’t be the end of the world if people wait another 24 hours for your vacation pics.
