6. Con: Financial burden
This is a tricky one, but if you have a fixed income, taking care of your grandchildren can at some point put stress on your budget. Many times seniors have limited resources, and as you probably already know, raising a child means spending some money in the process.
Generally, the parents of your grandchildren will help you in this context, but sometimes unexpected expenses might appear, and you should be ready for them. Going out, buying them some sweets, preparing food – all of this costs money, and sometimes you might feel like you can’t do it anymore.
If this is the case, be careful because these financial stressors can make you worry too much, leading to anxiety and compromising your well-being.
