Immune system
It may not seem important, but one of the first things that stress impacts in your body is your immune system. And this is extremely important because it can happen that due to prolonged stress, your body will no longer react in the same way as it normally would, and your immune system will no longer be as efficient as it should be due to being stressed too much.
Researchers do not have a clear answer yet as to why the immune system is impacted the way it is.
Yet, it is known that in moments when you are dealing with acute stress, your body is always in a state of being ready to fight off any injury or infection. Your body may end up being on guard at all times, which in turn keeps your immune system activated instead of coming into play when there is an outside danger attacking your system.
Due to how persistent stress is in some people, stress can end up causing chronic inflammation as your body is always sending out immune factors and it cannot properly regulate itself.
