Final Words

Consistency is key in all of this. Keep those boundaries we talked about in place, try to keep your calm, and be aware of how they bully and manipulate those around them.

Remember that they’re most likely always on the lookout for something new to criticize about you or something to blame you for. It’s usually when things seem to be sweet and light that they’re waiting for their chance to strike when you give them something they can use.

We understand that this can make it difficult to have a successful Easter with your toxic in-laws. But keep in mind that you’re not in a relationship with THEM.

While hardships between yourself and your toxic in-laws can bring up issues in your relationship, clear boundaries, good communication, and maybe even couples counseling to navigate these problems can steer you away from a rocky road and onto a solid path into the future!
