2. You’re starting to feel isolated from the rest of the world

If you’ve already tried explaining the situation to family or friends and felt misunderstood, it’s natural to start feeling isolated. That sense of loneliness can make it harder to maintain emotional clarity and may leave you more vulnerable to unhealthy influence. In some cases, the other person may attempt to reconnect by offering explanations, acting friendly, or behaving as if past issues never occurred.

Without consistent support, you might begin to question your own perspective and downplay what you experienced. If those close to you encourage giving the relationship another chance or minimizing what happened, you may feel tempted to do so in order to restore harmony and avoid feeling alone. While this can seem comforting in the moment, it’s important to remain aware of your own emotional well-being.
