Your childhood trauma

You’ve probably heard a lot of stories about people being highly influenced by what happened in their childhood. But the truth is that no matter how hard you try to fix what happened between you and your parents, your siblings, or other relatives, you can’t change history!

However, a therapist might help you understand the root of your trauma and make you accept the situation as it is because you will never be able to turn back time to heal or avoid a certain situation that made you feel uneasy at some point in your childhood.

Instead of holding grudges, try to have a different approach. Understand what happened, accept the fact that everybody makes mistakes, and try to grow out of these issues. If it’s necessary and you realize that even after these years, your family is not a good influence on you, cut the ties. There is no use in clinging to them if they are toxic people. Understand that only you can make a difference and change the way you see things!
