Maybe you were not expecting to find this among the pros and cons of grandparenting, but physical and emotional stress can still be challenges for some folks. You probably don’t have as much energy as you used to have ten years ago. And this is normal. But you should keep in mind that looking after your grandkids can be a difficult task sometimes.

Due to the responsibilities of childcare, seniors may become more tired, have trouble sleeping, and have their physical health damaged. Trying to balance their own demands with those of their grandchildren can cause stress, which can make them feel overburdened and emotionally drained.

You need to see if you can make all of this work for you. Maybe it is possible to take care of your grandchildren and yourself at the same time. But this is not always the case. If you feel like you can’t do both, we advise you to take care of yourself first.
