When she was asked how she has been shaped by her origins, she responded that it has everything to do with who she is and it impacted everything about her.

Growing up African American made her aware of things that others who are not sharing the experience may not understand.

She also pointed out the importance of her Indian origins in her identity and recognized her different roots as equally significant.

She emphasizes that we need to stop seeing people through a narrow lens and see their complexities and the various factors that shape them.
