1. Respiratory problems

When you’re anxious, your breathing becomes shallow, rapid, and short. This leads to unhealthy breathing patterns, which are when you’re inhaling more oxygen than you’re exhaling carbon dioxide. In other words, in this situation, your body is dealing with an excess of carbon dioxide, which can restrict the blood supply to the brain.

These things anxiety does to your body can lead to dizziness, numbness or tingling in the feet or hands, or even loss of consciousness. But that’s not all. Anxiety can also make Asthma symptoms worse. People suffering from chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) or inflamed airways may also need frequent hospitalizations due to anxiety.

So, if you’re already struggling with respiratory problems, it’s important to be aware of the things anxiety does to your body to be able to control them and act accordingly when they take over.
