7 Social Media Relationship Pitfalls You Should Worry About

Mean jokes about your partner

Marriage therapists say that when you bring up amusing things your spouse did in the right friend circles, there’s no harm done. But when you post their fails on social media, there’s no context behind it, and there’s no filter for what group they get shared with.

That’s yet another social media relationship pitfall. No matter how adorable you thought it was, your partner might not want your mother or ex to know about it. You can’t translate either intent or tone over text.

While you can make inappropriate jokes to your spouse in person, and they’ll be able to tell you’re just joking with them, it’s not the same over social media. The moment you put a mean joke about your significant other online, you can no longer control the situation’s outcome.

Other individuals are going to see it and not understand the context. So, if you like teasing your partner, keep it between the two of you!

In fact, if you like joking around with them and wish to avoid social media relationship pitfalls, order 1001 One-Liners and Short Jokes: The Ultimate Collection of the Funniest, Laugh-Out-Loud Rib-Ticklers, and have a pizza date night and go through them together!
