8 Diseases You Can Prevent By Being Thankful

7. Flu

Energy healers are aware that optimism and happy emotions boost our immune system, while pessimism and unpleasant emotions weaken it. Medical science now demonstrates that positive feelings like optimism cause our immune system to flourish and produce more blood cells. And because thankful people are naturally positive, they are directly “affected” by this influence.

So, before the cold season arrives in your area, make sure you’re prepared! Begin slowly with a mindset shift because this will only benefit you.

8. Anxiety

These days, especially since the pandemic started, there are far too many people who feel anxiety, which is a serious mental illness. But even a little period of concentration on something for which you are grateful or that you like to do on a regular basis can cut through negative thoughts.

Even therapists recommend this because feeling grateful regulates emotions and quiets the anxious chatter in the mind by activating the limbic nerve system.

Bottom line

Researchers discovered a link between appreciation and the propensity to maintain self-care routines, such as exercising or eating healthily. Given how difficult it is for most people to maintain their good behavior, this is fantastic news because you can start with baby steps by doing something different every time. Begin with a morning gratitude reflection, and think about something nice that can give you a small boost of energy for the day. You can also keep a journal where you can write daily about the things you’re most grateful for, or you can make small letters for all the people you’re close to and offer them out of the blue for no specific reason at all. You’ll be surprised at how content they are.

So, what are you thankful for? Tell us in the comments!

I have experienced insomnia for many years, mainly because of stress. At some point I did write what I was grateful for and I remember it being helping. Somewhere along the line I forgot I had done that and your article reminded of that time. So, I will begin again and see how this works. Thank you so much.
