12 Signs You’re Dealing With a Toxic Family Member

They are extremely dismissive of your own needs

Our homes are spaces in which we can be vulnerable and express our needs. If that positive energy is not present, and you are not comfortable enough to ask or express what you need, then that’s also a sign that you’re dealing with a toxic household.

They feel in competition with you

Toxic families might also breed an unhealthy sense of competition, especially among siblings. As experts explained, perfectionism could easily border on emotional abuse. Siblings who constantly compare to one another might suffer throughout their lives, and it might affect their children, but also their self-worth.
