Recognizing the Signs of a Nervous Breakdown in a Loved One

Watching someone you care about struggle with their mental health is one of life’s most challenging experiences. You may feel helpless, confused, or even frightened. If you’ve noticed dramatic changes in a loved one’s behavior, mood, and ability to cope with daily life, you might be worried they are having what is often called a “nervous breakdown.” This term isn’t a clinical diagnosis, but it’s a powerful way to describe a period of intense mental distress where the demands of life have become too overwhelming to handle.
