6. Bake or cook something

As with painting, many parents don’t want to let their children play in the kitchen. Mainly for the same reasons, meaning that they will probably make a mess. But a lot of kids are naturally fascinated by the kitchen, and this is your chance to help them discover it.

Stay connected with your grandkids and bake or cook something with them. Maybe they love pizza, or you can bake together their favorite cake. You have a lot of options to choose from.

One thing that is extremely important and that anyone who wants to cook together with kids should remember is that you need to let them help you. They will not be supportive if you just let them watch. Get them involved in the whole process.

Now, the trick is to make them believe that they are helping you. This means that you can still work alone but also let them do something so they can feel useful and like they took part in the making of the food, whether it’s cake, cookies, or whatever you choose to cook.
