8 Signs a Mother-in-Law Is Secretly Jealous

6. Two-faced attitude

If you’re dealing with a jealous mother-in-law, you’ll eventually come to understand that she has two personalities: the pleasant and respectable one she presents to her friends and family and the critical, jealous, and toxic one she reserves exclusively for you because she clearly doesn’t like you at all. And if you happen to mention it to anyone, even if you’re trying to give examples of various situations where she had an inappropriate attitude, they’ll think you’re insane for criticizing such a sweet and caring woman.

7. She needs to be in the spotlight

A jealous mother-in-law will always put her rights first, no matter what, because besides being controlling and toxic, she is also narcissistic. She will go to any extent to win you over and take your place. She might also make an effort to win over your kids, her son, and any other family members she thinks are significant.

She will therefore always be “there” at the ideal time. Additionally, because she constantly craves validation and attention, she may ignore subjects that aren’t directly related to her and focus conversations on herself instead.
