Fights that never end

When the relationship begins to crumble, you may find that you’re getting into arguments with your spouse that never seem to end. You could be fighting over a silly thing. It doesn’t matter who’s right, but it’s the principle. There are good and bad times.

But make no mistake: everybody squabbles. Yet humiliating or ridiculing each other is never a good idea and can lead to subtle relationship issues. Oftentimes, these arguments aren’t even about the matter at hand.

They’re usually about feeling misunderstood, hurt, or taken advantage of. How can you avoid it? Learn to take responsibility for your words and your actions. You might not have intended to hurt your spouse. But that could have happened.

When you get defensive and feel one of those never-ending battles coming on, try encouraging your partner to tell you why they’re mad and what you can do to improve the situation because you are more likely to understand each other better.
