6. Be sincere about your rejection

A lot of people tend to outright decline an invitation, but sometimes it’s better to be honest and also give an explanation about why you declined. Sometimes it’s because you have a lot on your plate, you already have a busy schedule, or you’re simply not in the mood to do anything at the moment. Be honest and open about your feelings, even if they might upset others.

7. Avoid the “Naysayers”

There is an unwritten rule about all the people who turn us down exactly when we need them the most. That’s why it’s not a big deal if you refuse to spend your time with them. Remember that for a better life and a peaceful state of mind, you must surround yourself with lively people who believe in you and motivate you to do your best. Protect your ambitions and your self-assurance, but also be realistic, hold onto your dreams, and diligently work toward attaining them.
