Understand That You Might Not Be Prepared To Hear Everything All At Once

When reeling from the hurt and initial shock of an affair, it might be tempting to demand answers as they’ll somehow make you feel better. Who was this person? What did they look like? What did they and your spouse do together?

Before you start your interrogation process, you should realize that truth-telling is like cutting open a wound. It might be required for healing. But it should be done in cautious stages at the times everyone is emotionally prepared for it.

Your spouse might feel too guilty to share all the details of their infidelity all at once. And you may be too fragile to handle them. Allow both of you to regain equilibrium before you begin the deep, soul-searching conversations.
