Avoid the social media relationship pitfall of sharing information your partner isn’t uncomfortable with

Even if you’re simply sharing a few details of your own personal life, it still reflects on your partner in ways they might not appreciate, especially if they’re more private than you are.

For example, you might be OK telling everyone what you named your baby, but your partner might not be comfortable sharing any information whatsoever about your children online. We’re not saying your spouse should have total control over your social media accounts.

In fact, that’s probably a red flag that you’re in an abusive relationship. What we mean is that social media posts should be talked about in the context of your partnership. Suppose you post something on social media, even innocently.

If it upsets your mate or makes them feel uncomfortable, you should take it down because that’s a social media relationship pitfall. Their feelings should be more important than your image on social media.
