Lie-detection tip: Notice when the corner of a person’s mouth turns down

Understanding how to tell if someone’s lying goes beyond the words that come out of their mouth. It’s also about their subconscious reactions. To sniff out liars, pay attention to these microexpressions.

One of these is what behavioral experts call the “Oh crap!” microexpression. It appears on the face when one corner of the mouth is pulled diagonally down toward the respective shoulder.

If someone shows this expression when you ask if they’re able to do something, that could indicate a problem or a lie. This is a hint that you’re being lied to and a warning for the next time you want to stretch the truth. Considering your face can betray your feelings, we should all opt for honesty.

What do you think about these lie-detection tips? Do they describe anyone you know? Please feel free to share your thoughts in the comments section below.
