6 Tips On Dealing With Toxic in-Laws This Easter

March 17, 2023 · Family

Toxic In-Law

Enlist Your Spouse For Help

You can’t convince anyone to take a look in the mirror and think about their behavior and the damage it might be causing. So don’t get involved in debating or negotiating with toxic in-laws about how they’re acting.

If you’ve ever tried to communicate directly with your toxic in-laws, you were probably met with lots of tension and conflict. So it might be time to ask your partner to step in. They may have to talk to them alone or come to your rescue when they’re in your company.

This might not be easy for them because families tend to push our buttons. For example, your partner might have to say, “Hey, this is how we feel about this topic. Please respect OUR family. It’s important to me that we all get along.”
