3. Pro: Sense of purpose and meaning

Sometimes, after you retire, you might notice that your life without the usual activities that you used to do, like going to work or taking care of your children, feels somehow empty. This can be an unsettling feeling that is hard to deal with.

The best thing that you can do is, obviously, try to understand that things are not like this and that your life is not actually empty. See this as an opportunity to learn new things and do what you like. We are sure that most people have some things or activities they have always wanted to do but never had the time to do.

But this is not the same for everyone, and because of this, there are some people who might truly enjoy taking care of and spending time with their grandchildren. And this can bring them a lot of joy and meaning in their lives.

Caring for your grandkids can make you feel like you have a purpose and are taking part actively in the development and growth of the younger generation. And this is beautiful; having a purpose in life is extremely beneficial for your well-being.
