8 Things Emotionally Intelligent People NEVER Do

2. They won’t let anyone limit their joy

Another thing emotionally intelligent people will never do is let other people limit their joy. When your sense of satisfaction and pleasure are derived from comparing yourself to others, you’re no longer the master of your own happiness.

That’s why when people with high emotional intelligence feel good about something that they have done, they won’t allow anyone’s accomplishments or opinions to take that away from them.

While sometimes it can be impossible to turn off your reactions to what others say about or think of you, you should never compare yourself to others. Also, always keep in mind to take people’s opinions with a grain of salt.
