5. Worrying too much

May seniors experience this one of the signs of anxiety. Excessive worrying means being too affected by events and everyday situations. And by being affected, we mean worrying disproportionately about them.

If you go to a doctor, they will diagnose you with generalized anxiety disorder if this worrying happens daily for at least 6 months. Also, another aspect of this worry is that it is very hard for the person to control it.

More than that, when your worry is caused by anxiety, it is incredibly debilitating. That means you will find it incredibly difficult to accomplish daily tasks.

Generalized anxiety disorder affects over 6.8 million Americans, or approximately 3.1 percent of the country’s population, according to the Anxiety and Depression Association of America.
