Manage Family Obligations

The influence of our families frequently defines how and where we spend a lot of our time. This includes adult children, grandchildren, siblings, and many other extended families.

And even though our families are important, managing our time with them can become a source of ongoing frustration if your partner doesn’t always want to spend time with them.

Now that you have the time, allowing yourself to become your grandchildren’s permanent nanny or an aging parent’s primary caregiver can wreak havoc on plans with your significant other in your golden years.

What if your adult child has to move back home because of unemployment or any other issues? As innocent as your intentions may be, they can be a source of conflict in your relationship.

Your spouse might feel like they’ve earned a good retirement life and might have entirely different views on these responsibilities.
