3. Constant fatigue

Of all the signs of anxiety, feeling tired and constantly fatigued is one of the most common ones that many seniors suffer from. When you have an anxiety disorder, you get tired more easily, and you also stay tired for longer periods of time.

Some people may be surprised by this symptom because anxiety is frequently linked to hyperactivity or nervousness. But exactly this hyperactivity triggers extreme fatigue. You will be alert, and maybe you will not sleep well, and after days and days of feeling alert and ready to act in case of danger, your body may become powerless.

There are also cases when the person feels tired all the time, not only after episodes of anxiety. This differs from person to person. It is not yet clear if the fatigue is caused only by the other symptoms of anxiety, such as insomnia and panic attacks, or if it is also linked to the hormonal changes that happen when you suffer from chronic anxiety.

A diagnosis of an anxiety disorder cannot be made only based on extreme tiredness because fatigue can also be an indication of depression or other medical disorders. Always consult a professional.
