6. A complete shift in expression

Last but not least on our list of signs of lying is something that may be pretty obvious if you know the other person well. If you have a feeling they are being dishonest, be on alert if their facial expression changes entirely during the conversation, especially if their face shifts from neutral to negative, and watch out for signs of fear, disgust, sadness, or anger.

People’s facial expressions change depending on what they’re thinking. The body and mind tend to communicate through the face. If you see the person’s face shift into a negative emotion when asking them further questions in search of the truth, then you have proof that something has changed, and they may be ready to throw a lie in your face.

Signs of lying also include changes in the color of the face. A liar’s face may become paler if they have a feeling that they’ve been caught. Take a look at their face, and if it turns white as a ghost when they speak, you may want to question their words.

Also, when someone lies, unless the person is a psychopath, the pupils in their eyes will get smaller, after they get accustomed to the light. That just takes a minute or so.
