Start Your Own Book Club

A book club doesn’t have to involve many people. This can be done between you as a senior couple. One of you chooses a book to read, and after a week or two, you can plan a special date night to discuss the book.

Before the end of the evening, the other partner suggests the next book to read. To enjoy your time with the Book Club, you need to set some rules, and you must both respect them. For instance, both partners have to read the book even if it’s not the other’s cup of tea.

Turn your quiet “alone time” into an opportunity for bonding by picking books you and your spouse are interested in reading.

Push through each read at the same pace and come together for a compelling discussion of the material that promises to promote positive communication and renewed interest in each other’s feelings and ideas.
