Look for support from people who make you feel safe

When dealing with depression, it’s very important to know when and how to ask for help and support from the people you are close to. The feeling of being nurtured and safe around certain individuals can do wonders for people who suffer from depression. While they aren’t psychologists and don’t know how to fix your issue, they will be there for you to listen to you when you want to vent without judging you because of the way you feel.

If you are dealing with a family member who has depression, make sure they understand you will always be there for them, no matter what. And always, but always, help them open themselves and talk freely about what burdens them.
