5. Write some handwritten letters

This is a cute activity that can help you and your grandkids learn more about each other. You can do this if you live far away, but this is an activity that can be done even if you live in the same home. So, it is not a matter of distance but an amazing way to stay connected with your grandkids.

Sending someone a handwritten note by snail mail is still an excellent way to let them know you are thinking of them. And for small kids, this can be even more exciting since everything is mostly online today.

They might keep the handwritten letters you send them and repay the favor by sending something to you. And if you live close to one another, you can decide a day and write the letters together, then exchange them. No matter what approach you choose, they can still keep the message you wrote for them, and this can be a beautiful memory when they get older and find your letter.
