7. Phobophobia

One of the most unusual phobias involves a severe fear of phobias. Symptoms associated with phobophobia include those that are similar to other specific phobias. This includes physical feelings of intense fear such as sweating, rapid heartbeat, and chills. It may also include the avoidance of any triggers that may produce feelings of anxiety or fear.

People who have other phobias or other anxiety disorders may be at a higher risk of developing phobophobia. According to experts, it’s difficult to know exactly how many people deal with this specific phobia, but it’s pretty rare.

In other words, the anxiety of anticipating a potential fear actually becomes a phobia itself, and specialists refer to this as a self-fulfilling prophecy.
