8. Man’s Search for Meaning by Victor E. Frankl

Psychiatrist Viktor Frankl talks at length in this book about his experience living in Nazi death camps and what this taught him about spiritual survival. He comes up with a convincing argument, saying that avoiding suffering isn’t realistic.

While this idea may seem very pessimistic at first, suggesting that the human being is doomed to suffer, the author points out that choosing how you cope with that suffering is what can either save you or destroy you. He explains that the meaning you ascribe to the suffering is also very important in this process of moving forward.

This motivational book is definitely one that anyone can gain value from. It has been listed as one of the most influential books in the US and has currently sold more than 10 million copies worldwide.
