Don’t Judge

It’s imperative to listen closely before you judge your partner’s financial behavior or decisions.

Even if their expensive cheese obsession or belief that their Netflix subscription is a mandatory expense might seem a bit silly or senseless, part of being in a healthy relationship is working to understand your significant other better.

Ask your spouse why they act or think the way they do about money. Perhaps their parents did it that way as well. It could be a coping strategy they developed when their family was going through financial hardships.

The goal is to work on seeking to understand one another as a way to reduce conflict about money troubles.
