They are always blaming you

If a family member is constantly criticizing or even blaming you for everything that happens, without taking any kind of accountability for themselves, that’s a sign of a toxic individual. Whether they’re always playing the victim or not, no matter what happens, it’s always your fault. Also, they might try avoiding responsibilities at all costs.

They are manipulative

If someone is that toxic, you can easily bet that they’re also highly manipulative, which might reflect in many things. They could gaslight you, guilt trip you, or generally act super controlling. If one of your family members is making you feel guilty for every single bad thing, there, there you have it: that’s a toxic family member.
