6 Things You Should NEVER Tell Your Grandchildren

3. “You are stupid” or “Don’t be stupid”

These are, for sure, some of the things you should never tell your grandchildren. Calling them stupid is incredibly harmful, and it can have devastating consequences.

Don’t be surprised if your grandchildren go around calling other people and kids names if you call them by such phrases. Also, telling them something like this can have an effect on their self-esteem. Telling them that they are not good enough in such a way is terrible and should never happen.

Psychotherapists say that negative labels and generalizations about people can become self-fulfilling prophecies. So, telling bad things to your grandkids can make them behave like what you said is true, and this can go on until they reach adulthood and never stop.

So, this is a big no-no, and you should always be careful about it.
