What are the alarming signs of mental illness in seniors?

Statistics show that more than 20% of adults over the age of 40 are suffering from a mental health disease. Depression and anxiety are the most common illnesses. The worst part is that you’re emotionally exhausted and you don’t know what to do, and this goes even deeper because it can also make it even harder to do simple tasks that before were part of your daily routine.

The good news is that most of these mental illnesses are treatable. But unfortunately, seniors have a low diagnosis rate for mental diseases, and many mental health issues go untreated, which increases the risk of suicide rate. To avoid this and many other bad things, it’s important to spot all the early signs of mental illnesses and get proper support and help for them.

In today’s article, we will take a deeper look at the signs that may indicate something is wrong and you need to see a therapist as soon as possible!
