Dementia is an umbrella term that encompasses many symptoms and diseases that lead to a decline in cognitive function and memory. Most often, these symptoms are severe and interfere with everyday life.
Today, about 47.5 million people worldwide are living with dementia. It usually occurs in people over the age of 65 and affects their thinking, reasoning, and memory.
One thing that you should know is that there are more types of dementia. Alzheimer’s disease, vascular dementia, and frontotemporal dementia are just a few of them, but they are also the most common ones. They progress slowly, and the symptoms get worse over time.
That is why you should be careful and always watch the signs. The sooner you seek treatment, the better your chances are of easing the symptoms.
So, if you notice any of the following signs in your spouse, you should take them to the doctor and see what’s going on as soon as you can.

Thank you for your post on Dementia. My wife and I are in our eighties and we are still travaling by car to vacations here in the states. We have travaled to South America and Europe in group plans. So far I beleive we haven’t had problems but I am interested in staying informed of Dementia.
I’ve been seeing a lot of these signs in my husband for the last 5 years or more, but it’s gotten worse in the last 2 years!
He’s now 70 years old & we’ve been married for over 45 years!
