“Sorry to bother you” comments
At times, we can be extremely groveling in the way we approach other people. We intend it to sound humble and polite. But we can go overboard and subtly sabotage ourselves in the process. The following phrases wont get you much respect from others:
- “Does that make sense?!”
- “Sorry to bother you.”
- “If you know what I mean?!”
Of course, it’s always important to be respectful and courteous when it comes to earning respect from others. But we also need to be mindful of the impression we leave with our chosen language.
How we showcase ourselves to others affects how they end up viewing us. Sometimes, we lower our status in the eyes of others when we appear too unpretentious or lacking in self-assurance.

Folks with integrity can just BE themselves and don’t need to give nor take any ass-kissing. If you have integrity, you don’t NEED a fan club.
I get along by myself just fine—I WON’T BE INDUCTED INTO PECKING ORDERS UNLESS IT IS ASSERTED THAT I AM AT THE TOP!! Yeah. it saves me a lot of time and trouble to just avoid—-
