8. They avoid looking you in the eye
Another sign that someone’s lying to you is if they avoid eye contact. Remember when you did something you shouldn’t have done and lied about it as a kid? Your parents would probably demand that you look them in the eye when they ask you for the truth.
There’s nothing new here; we all know that avoiding eye contact is the first clear indication that somebody’s lying. Therefore, if you ask someone a question and they instantly avert their gaze before answering, they may be lying. They feel nervous or ashamed, so they’re afraid to meet your gaze.
However, keep in mind that some people can be very good at lying, so they would still look right into your eyes while doing so.
