6. Too many rules

You always need to communicate with their parents to find out what parenting methods they are implementing.

If you plan on treating your grandchildren the same way you raised your own children, you’re making a mistake. Each parent has their own methods, and if you try to change them, the result will be negative.

Parents may judge you for what you do, and the children will also distance themselves from you. Try to communicate constantly with their parents to avoid crossing certain boundaries.

If you impose too many rules on them when they are with you, your grandkids will become scared and will try to avoid you as much as possible. Of course, this does not apply to extreme situations that call for a firm attitude.
