Did you know that up to 40% of people with schizophrenia also have a depressive disorder? The relationship between schizophrenia and depression seems to be a complex matter. In fact, most people who have schizophrenia also experience at least one depressive episode.

As a matter of fact, depression might set in before any other symptom of psychosis. Even so, symptoms of depression and psychosis usually occur simultaneously in various scenarios. Understanding what the correct diagnosis is might prove to be a bit difficult, even for a clinician.
