9 Alarming Signs You Have Narcissistic Abuse Syndrome

1. Everything is so perfect in the beginning

If you have a relationship with a narcissistic person, you will notice that they tend to make a good first impression. They want to be appreciated and acknowledged for what they think they did for you, so later on, they could easily throw everything in your face in the event of a fight. A narcissist will always look generous, kind, loving, and supportive. All these trademarks happen during the “honeymoon phase” of your romantic relationship. And of course, you will fall for them! Who wouldn’t? But in reality, this is just a bridge to another face of them, a hidden one that will show up only after they have your full trust.

Slowly, they will try to manipulate you into doing various things for them, but under the excuse, “You’re doing this for us!” The sad part is that narcissistic abuse isn’t done only in romantic relationships. Some narcissistic parents are very loving and affectionate until their child does something they consider a mistake. Then hell breaks loose, and the parent will rapidly turn to silent treatment, verbal abuse, and gaslighting the kid.
