Try Some New Things

While this next tip is very important, it can also be very hard to do. Make a list of some activities you’ve always wanted to try but have never gotten around to. Now little by little, go out there and give them each a try.

You can take a wreath-making class, learn a new language, or try your hand at baking. No matter what you choose, the possibilities are endless.‌ As we age, we might develop a well-formed or rigid set of expectations about ourselves and what we like and do not.

But it’s essential to remember that you have nothing to lose by trying something new. It’s true that it might not work out the way you planned. But it might also surprise you.

Whether we’re talking about a skill, hobby, or social interaction, you may find a lifelong passion by trying something new.

I started a group of 10 ladies who get together on the 3rd. Thursday of the month and play the phase 10 card game. We begin at 11 am and eat hour devours and drink wine. Then we have lunch at about 12:30 pm. and then go back to the card game. We are all retired ladies and we rotate the card game at different ladies’ homes.

We also go to other events together, and some of us go to Zumba class together and others go to Line Dancing class together. This year, a number of us started working as substitutes in the office at our local school system. We keep pretty busy. But it all started with our card game.
