Who’s More Likely To Be Brainwashed?

If you watch the movie: The Manchurian Candidate, you’ll get a bit of insight into how a person can become brainwashed.

The film is about a successful senator who is taken by Korean soldiers during the war and brainwashed into becoming an agent for them, with the intent of assassinating a political figure.

The movie wants to present the idea that even a powerful and intelligent person can be brainwashed. But in reality, the opposite is far more likely.

People that are vulnerable in some kind of way are more susceptible to a different way of thinking and are likely to become brainwashed. By this, we mean people that could have:

  • Lost a loved one through death or divorce.
  • Are suffering from an illness they can’t accept.
  • Got fired from an important job.
  • Been forced to live on the streets, especially young people.

If you think that someone you know could be brainwashed, the first thing to do is to get them away from their circumstances. Next, get them help from a professional and support them through this situation.

Someone who’s been brainwashed CAN heal, as research and past studies have shown that brainwashing is a temporary condition at best and doesn’t leave permanent damage on an individual’s psyche.
