These 5 Marriage Cons Will Make You Reconsider Yours

5. The first relationships you see will become the blueprint for your marriage

What you are exposed to as a child can influence the way you see things when you grow up. This is a well-known fact and applies to any area of your life. But the patterns in relationships are the ones that will stick with you the most.

If you were raised in a loving environment and if your parents had a healthy and happy marriage, you will unconsciously learn those behaviors, and later on, you will have a greater chance to have relationships as good as your parents. You learn without even realizing what a successful marriage looks like. Also, a healthy environment will always produce healthy individuals.

On the other hand, if your parents were always fighting and you grew up in a place where distance, abuse, and criticism were always present, you will carry that with you, and it will show up in your romantic relationships.

Hopefully, these patterns can be broken if you decide that you want to work on yourself. Therapy is a good start for this. It is never too late to become a better person.
